Mr Plywood, Prophoto and Fabric Depo

Zoe (photographer friend, very nice lady) came round to give me some advice on photographing some wedding dresses. I thought originally i'd buy some brollies with flashes and take some pictures in my office area (which now looks like a messy shop). She told me - the best light is the sun - lets do it outside. She mention Irving Penn and told me how he travelled America with material canvas and took portraits, so lets go for a rugged outdoor shoot - material hung up outside on the wall, bit of plywood for the models to stand on and some photography paper for the porch incase it rains I can use that space. Right, off I went, spending money my favourite part. Up to Fabric Depo, Prophoto and Mr Plywood and a few hours later, I had it all. Or not.
After painting the back wall gray, and with the material and everything else, it just looks a bit rubbish, beacsue, it would seem I am no Irving Penn, it would seem I need to learn more about my camera. I have no photography skills or any clue yet. I stood on the plywood and it snapped, it then got covered in mud from the garden and I didn't iron the material. Things am learning about myself = want to do everything as fast as possible and not think anything through.

Really, I wanted the shoot to look like this, but as Nique told me, I was getting to ahead of myself, was completely all over the place and what did I want? (everything, really fast please).
So, she helped me set this up - photography paper, hammered into the porch and mannequin with vintage 60s wedding dress, getting better.
