I’ve up sticks from England and moved over to Portland. Amid a mid life crisis (well turning 30), a passion for vintage, a new country and a current obsession with all things wedding related (in particular- dresses), I've decided it's time to set up a business. When Charlie proposed, apart from yes yes yes coming straight to mind, my thoughts turned to what to wear...my ideas changed daily…I bought a few amazing preloved dresses from various internet sites, taking a gamble that each would be the perfect one (one was, one wasn't) then purchased numerous vintage dresses that I had to have (!) then trying them on and styling at home. Too many choices and an incredible mini wedding boutique in our office! So my idea for a business came about. Someone wanting different, simple and individual but with no time to rummage or take risks buying over the internet. Time I have and something I love doing. All Things White and Beautiful will become a vintage/consignment wedding dress boutique here in Portland, Oregon. With this blog I will document my progress and share my journey in trying to successfully start a new business within the recession, in a new country, with no idea. Determination and a crazed love of shopping (often getting sidetracked) will make my journey a success..
